The hydrotherapy pool allows the animal to exercise in a non weight bearing environment which relieves pressure on joints, reducing pain and encouraging range of movement which may not be obtainable on the ground.

The word hydrotherapy originates from Greece and translates into water-healing it has been used and proven for thousands of years all over the world. It was originally used for humans but over the year has been just as successful on horses and dogs.

The warm water of the pool helps with blood circulation this helps prevent swelling

 

 

Swimming in a controlled environment exercises virtually every muscle in their body and also greatly improves cardiovascular fitness



It is also an ideal treatment for working / showing dogs as it helps with general fitness and muscle mass. It is a highly intensive form of exercise and just a few minutes in the pool is equivalent to a long walk
